'March'ing on toward GOODNESS

We've experienced a great start to learning about GOODNESS at Kids' Connection this past week. Lisa Laird and Pockets Full of Fun celebrated GOODNESS with a puppet show and our verse: "Hate what is wrong and hold tightly to what is GOOD!" She showed us a box that magically changed what was not good to something very GOOD! On Thursday we celebrated God's creation. At the end of each creation day in the book of Genesis, God saw everything He had made and said, "It is good." Our 'Going Bananas' party was fun, too. All 92 children and lots of volunteers met upstairs in the Fellowship Hall and enjoyed 'Minute-to-Win it' games incorporating bananas, ping pong balls and prizes!!

We are also learning a verse from Psalm 23: "Surely GOODNESS and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever."

Next week, we will make homemade cards, bake cookies, play shuffleboard and many other fun activities. We will play BINGO and meet the K-9 dogs from the Sheriff's department during the third week of March.

Our service project for the month of March is designing and coloring place mats for the hospital patients at the Orange City Area Health System and for the residents at the Long Term Care and Heritage House nursing homes and Landsmeer Retirement Home. We've been able to send over about 35 place mats already!

Please join us for all of the fun at Kids' Connection!
