Kids' Connection only meets on Tuesday, the 18th, this week. There will be no KC on the 20th of December.

Kids' Connection kids are making Gingerbread Houses on Tuesday, December 11 from 4pm-5pm in the Fellowship Hall!! Join us as encourage-rs!!!

JESSE TREE ORNAMENT EVENT

Just wanted to let you know about a fun family event happening at First Reformed Church on Sunday, November 25. You are welcome to join us with your entire family. There will be more information and a sign up form on the Kids’ Connection Check-in desk.

Wonderful Family Opportunity to celebrate Advent- Jesse Tree Ornament Event: Kids’ Connection will be hosting a Jesse Tree ornament activity for Advent. Bible stories about people in Jesus’ family have been chosen to help us remember those who came before Jesus and who waited and hoped for His birth. Come and join us with your whole family in the FRC Lower Level Kids’ Connection area on Sunday afternoon, November 25 at 3:00pm to put the ornaments together, share time together as a family, and have a keepsake for many years to come. KIDS' CONNECTION WILL END AT 5:00PM Thursday, Nov. 1

Dear Parents,

Our custodian, Galen Kleinwolterink, lost his wife, Becky,  in a traffic accident on Monday afternoon. The visitation with the family will be here at First Reformed Church from 5-7pm tomorrow night. I feel it’s best to end Kids’ Connection at 5:00pm tomorrow night out of respect for the grieving family.

Kid’s Connection will be held from 3:30-5:00 Thursday, November 1 (tomorrow). I will put this announcement on the radio, Facebook, our blog, school announcements and email. Hopefully everyone will hear of the shortened time.

Thank you for understanding! Our prayers go out for Galen and his family!!

Kids' Connection and Northwestern Bank are partnering to celebrate the children with birthdays in October tomorrow, Thursday, October 25.

K-1st grade Farm Field Trip Cancelled!

The Kindergarten-1st grade farm field trip has been cancelled for today due to the rain, extreme wind and cold temps. We will postpone this trip until Spring!

Hi Parents,

Fishing was a blast yesterday!!! If your child participated, I’m sure he/she had a fun afternoon! Check out the pictures on Facebook!

NW Bank comes to KC tomorrow, Thursday, September 27, to celebrate all of the children with birthdays in August and September!!!

T-shirt orders are due tomorrow as well. Find a form on the check in desk if you’d like to purchase one!

October is a busy month!! Just a couple of tidbits of information for you:

K-1st graders are invited to visit a local farm, Leon Kuiken’s farm, on Tuesday, October 2. Permission forms need to be in tomorrow, Thursday, September 27, in order to go along. Thanks!

2nd graders are invited to go to Pumpkin land on Tuesday, October 30. Permission slips are due on Thursday, October 25.

3rd graders are invited to Mrs. B.’s farm/vineyard on Thursday, October 11. Permission slips are due on Tuesday, October 9.

Kids' Connection updates!!

Did you know that it's National Farm Animal Day on Tuesday, October 2??? The Kindergarten and 1st grade KC kids are invited to visit a local farm that afternoon. Your K or 1st grader will need a permission slip filled out by next Thursday, September 27. Look for forms tomorrow. Our church buses will transport them to and from the farm, 4:00pm-5:00pm.

Fishing Trip permission forms for 4th-5th graders are due Thursday, Sept. 20.

Text messages...

As of last night, we hope to have the texting issues solved. But we need your help:

·         Please let us know if the texting/email notifications are working tomorrow (if your child comes to Kids’ Connection tomorrow) or not working

·         Please do not reply to the texts or emails because the program is not available for replies

Your child may not walk to Kids’ Connection from the schools. We have buses available for your child to arrive safely at Kids’ Connection. If you as a parent send me an email or give me a note that your child is allowed to walk to Kids’ Connection from school, it’s allowed, but otherwise your child needs to ride the church buses to church. Yesterday several 3^rd and 4^th graders walked from school, bought donuts at the bakery and joined us after that. No one knows where your child is if he/she decides to walk from school to Kids’ Connection without permission. Please use the buses for safety!!!

Remember that permission slips for the fishing trip are due this next week and the t-shirt orders with payment are due September 27.

CAR WASH, Tuesday, September 11

Parents,
We had a wonderful, busy first week at Kids' Connection! Thanks for your patience when picking up your children to take them home. Your children have been SO patient while waiting in line to check in and have shown respect and kindness to others.

CAR WASH next Tuesday-have your child bring an old wash cloth, clothes and shoes that can get wet, and your vehicle to wash. The CAR WASH will

take place on the FRC North parking lot, entrance on the east side, exit on the west side 4pm-5pm-ish. Come out and support the Winnebago Reformed Church with a freewill offering. Drive with EXTREME caution!!

Many of you have mentioned that you are not receiving a text from Kids' Connection. Please give us time to work with our new system and figure out why this is not happening.

Kids' Connection 1st day...

Hello everyone! It's Monday afternoon and I'm afraid I won't know for sure what OCCS decides to do tomorrow about an early out until tomorrow around 10:00am. If OCCs decides to have an early out like OCE, we will NOT have Kids' Connection, BUT if OCCS has a full day of school, we will be here ready for your children at 3:30-6:00. There will be NO buses however. You will be responsible to get your child here. The 'heat' of school closings affects Kids' Connection!

Good morning!! 
Many of you are wondering what we will do about Kids' Connection tomorrow. At this point OCE has an early out. If OCCS decides to have an early out, then we will have to cancel our first day of Kids' Connection. So...I'm waiting to hear what OCCS decides. Confusing?? Please stay close to your radio, email, FB account and the blog for the latest information!!

Kids' Connection First Day!!!

The first day for Kids' Connection is Tuesday, August 28! The church buses will be outside your school building ready to load you up and bring you to First Reformed Church.

Our theme this year is GOD ROCKS!!! Remember to take a smooth rock (about the size of an orange) along with you when you come!

Our verse for September and October is Micah 6:8- "What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your GOD!"

Please mark your calendars for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, August 20, 21 or 22, 2012

 for registering your K-5th grade child(ren) for the 2012-2013 Kids' Connection after school club program.

You will receive information on the upcoming year, have the opportunity to ask questions and have your child's picture taken for an official Kids' Connection name tag when you register your child(ren).

If your child was a part of Kids' Connection last school year, you will receive a registration packet in the mail in early August. Filling out the Child Information Form before you come will make the registration process go very quickly. If you have not had your child at Kids' Connection in the past, you will receive a Child Information Form when you arrive at registration. GRADUATION at Kids' Connection on Thursday, May 24

We're counting down the days until the Kids' Connection Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, May 24. Our registered 5th graders will process down the aisle of the First Reformed Church Sanctuary adorned with hats and special necklaces that announce their promotion to middle school and the 'Hangout' at 1st Impact! They will process and recess with Pomp and Circumstance, be favored with a message from the Bible and asked to turn their tassels near the end of the program. The ceremony begins at 3:45 and ends around 4:15. All of the Kids' Connection children will witness the ceremony and all will be treated to a special hour of fun in the Fellowship Hall of FRC following the ceremony!!

We want to thank our 5th graders for the important part they played at Kids' Connection all year! We are so proud of you and wish you God's blessings as you move on to Middle School. Come back and visit any time-you are always welcome!! Love to all of you!!!!!!

KIDS' CONNECTION CARNIVAL

Kids' Connection Carnival

It's no ordinary day at Kids' Connection!! Yes!! You heard it right!! Kids' Connection is having a CARNIVAL on Thursday, May 3!!
Here's how the afternoon will go:

Kindergarten-1st grade-3:45-4:15
2nd-3rd grade- 4:15-4:45
4th-5th grade- 4:45-5:30

The afternoon will begin as usual with buses at the schools at the regular time, snacks, our Bible lesson and then off to the CARNIVAL at the times posted above. The CARNIVAL will take place downstairs in the old hospital. If your child is in a particular grade, please try to wait to pick them up until they have had a chance to enjoy the CARNIVAL!! Thanks so much!!

JUMP-A-THON

KIDS JUMPING FOR KIDS!!!

Kids Jumping for Kids! Your child at Kids' Connection can help make a difference in the lives of young children in Romania or Vietnam who have desperate physical needs! Hope Haven has requests for 750 wheelchairs for children in these countries and sponsorships are needed for these wheelchairs. You can sponsor a 'jumper' and provide mobility, freedom and an opportunity for a young child in need of a wheelchair.

Around the globe, God is answering children's prayers through the loving and generous actions of children like yours at Kids' Connection. The KC children will be jumping for other children on April 19 from 4:00-5:00. You simply sponsor your child with a $5.00 donation and encourage 9 other people to do the same. Your child will be able to donate one wheelchair!!

Every $50.00 donated will bring hope and opportunity through a wheelchair and make a difference in a child's life in various developing countries around the world. Together we can make a difference!!!
